Some information may be supplied directly by you.

  • Pages accessed.
  • Error and performance information.
  • Cookie or similar technology identifiers.

We do not intentionally request sensitive personal data for ordinary creator assessments.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information unless we specifically explain why it is needed.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

Account management

To create and administer accounts, authenticate users and provide requested features.

Social account verification

To confirm that a user controls the social media profile associated with an assessment or certificate.

Creator assessments

To calculate Impact Scores, produce estimated rankings and provide performance insights.

Certification

To determine eligibility, issue digital certificates, manage their validity and maintain public verification records.

Payments

To process purchases, maintain transaction records and manage refunds or disputes.

Communications

To send account notices, verification requests, purchase confirmations, certificate information and important service messages.

Security and fraud prevention

To detect suspicious activity, protect accounts and investigate misuse.

Service improvement

To understand technical performance, troubleshoot problems and improve the service.

Legal compliance

To comply with applicable tax, accounting, consumer protection, data protection and other legal obligations.

We will not use information obtained through social platform APIs for purposes incompatible with the permissions granted or applicable platform requirements.

5. Our Legal Bases for Processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases, as appropriate:

Performance of a contract

Where processing is necessary to provide an account, assessment, purchased certificate or other requested service.

Legitimate interests

Where necessary for proportionate security, fraud prevention, service administration or improvement, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Legal obligation

Where we must retain or process information to meet applicable legal requirements.

Consent

Where consent is required, including for certain optional cookies, marketing communications or other processing activities.

Connecting a social media account involves a separate authorisation process through the relevant platform. Platform authorisation does not automatically mean that consent is the UK GDPR legal basis for every related processing activity.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

6. Connections to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube

Influencertified may offer official account connections to supported social media platforms.

These connections are intended to help confirm account ownership and, where permitted, retrieve relevant creator performance information.

TikTok

If you connect TikTok, we may request access to account identifiers, profile information, account statistics and published video information, depending on the permissions approved and granted.

Instagram

If you connect an eligible Instagram account, we may request access to account identifiers, profile information, media information and available insights, subject to Meta's applicable permissions and account eligibility rules.

YouTube

If you connect YouTube through Google authorisation, we may request access to channel identity and available channel or content statistics within the permissions granted.

Important limitations

Not every platform connection or data field will be available to every user.

We will only request the permissions reasonably needed for the relevant features.

We will not claim that performance information has been verified against platform data unless it has actually been retrieved or checked through an appropriate source.

We do not ask you to disclose your social media password to Influencertified.

Social platform sign-in should occur through the platform's official authorisation process.

You may generally revoke access through the relevant social platform's account or security settings.

Revoking access may prevent further data retrieval and may affect future verification or reassessment.

7. How Social Media Data Affects Assessments

We may use relevant social media statistics to calculate creator assessments and determine eligibility for performance-based certification.

Where platform data is unavailable, we may allow creator-reported figures, clearly labelled as such.

Our estimated comparative rankings are based on our assessment methodology and available benchmarks.

They should not be interpreted as definitive rankings of all creators on a platform.

We may use automated calculations to generate scores and preliminary eligibility outcomes.

Where an automated decision produces legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of applicable data protection law, we will provide the safeguards required by that law.

You may contact us to request an explanation of your assessment, raise concerns about incorrect data or challenge a certification decision.

8. Public Certificate Verification

If you purchase and receive a certificate, selected information may be published on a public verification page.

This may include:

  • Creator name or public display name.
  • Social media platform and handle.
  • Certification level.
  • Certificate ID.
  • Issue and expiry dates.
  • Certificate status.
  • Appropriate ownership verification information.

We publish this information to allow third parties to confirm that a certificate is authentic.

We will explain the public information involved before issuance.

We do not intend to publish your personal email address, payment information, private authentication credentials or confidential assessment inputs on certificate verification pages.

If you have concerns about the public information associated with a certificate, contact us.

9. Sharing Information with Service Providers

We may share personal information with trusted providers where necessary to operate Influencertified.

Depending on our deployed infrastructure, these may include providers of:

  • Website hosting and application infrastructure.
  • Database and authentication services.
  • Payment processing.
  • Transactional email delivery.
  • Security and technical monitoring.
  • Customer support.
  • Social media account authorisation.

We require service providers acting as processors to handle personal information under appropriate contractual and security arrangements.

We may also disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our rights or protect users.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

If we introduce advertising or additional third-party tracking, we will update this policy and implement any required notices and consent controls.

10. International Data Transfers

Some technology providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism, such as applicable adequacy regulations or recognised contractual safeguards.

Details of relevant transfer arrangements may be requested by contacting us.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to legal obligations and legitimate business requirements.

Our retention practices include the following principles:

  • Account information is generally retained while the account remains active.
  • Assessment information is retained as needed to provide historical results, support reassessment and resolve disputes.
  • Certificate records may be retained after expiry to support authenticity checks, fraud prevention and dispute resolution.
  • Financial and transaction records are retained for periods required by applicable tax and accounting law.
  • Verification logs and security records are retained only for justified operational, security or compliance purposes.
  • Social platform access credentials and tokens should be deleted or invalidated when no longer needed, including following disconnection where applicable.

Specific retention periods must reflect the systems and legal obligations actually applicable to Influencertified.

You may request information about the retention period relevant to your personal data.

12. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse and disclosure.

Depending on the systems deployed, these may include:

  • Encrypted connections.
  • Access controls.
  • Secure authentication.
  • Restricted access to credentials.
  • Server-side verification.
  • Logging and monitoring.
  • Appropriate database security controls.

No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact info@influencertified.com.

13. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Influencertified may use cookies or similar technologies to maintain login sessions, provide security features and operate essential website functionality.

We may also use optional analytics or other technologies where deployed.

Where UK law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will obtain that consent before activating them.

You can manage cookies through your browser and, where available, our website's cookie settings.

We will provide more specific cookie information when the website's actual cookie and tracking technologies have been confirmed.

14. Marketing Communications

We may send service-related emails necessary for account administration, verification, purchases and certification.

Marketing emails will be sent only where permitted by applicable law.

Where consent is required, we will obtain it.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the instructions in the message or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent necessary transactional or security communications.

15. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of information.
  • Restrict certain processing.
  • Object to certain processing.
  • Receive certain information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
  • Challenge certain automated decisions where applicable.

These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

To exercise your rights, email:

info@influencertified.com

We may need to verify your identity before responding.

We will respond within the time limits required by applicable law.

16. Deleting Your Account and Disconnecting Platforms

You may request account deletion by contacting us.

Where self-service deletion or social account disconnection is available, you may also use those controls.

We will delete or anonymise eligible information in accordance with applicable law.

Certain information may need to be retained for legal obligations, fraud prevention, payment records or legitimate certificate verification purposes.

Disconnecting a social media account may stop future authorised access but does not necessarily delete assessment or transaction records already lawfully held.

We will explain relevant retention exceptions when responding to a deletion request.

17. Children's Privacy

Influencertified's paid certification service is intended for adults aged 18 or over.

We do not knowingly offer paid certification to children.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in circumstances requiring deletion or parental authorisation, we will take appropriate action.

18. Complaints

If you have concerns about our handling of your personal information, please contact us first at:

info@influencertified.com

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
